HATE THAT I LOVE YOU Ch. 13

The expected happened. A group of seemingly gangsters get in me and Buddy’s way. They are led by a masculine but pale boy wearing black sunglasses and black jacket. One can comment that the boy is the school’s bully. It was Carl, ang super assuming na manliligaw ni MM.

“Hey, MM!” He, then, crossed his arms. “I heard the news about you and the bastard yesterday. I want an explanation.”

Napataas ang kilay ko. I know Buddy did it too.

“At bakit naman ako mag-e-explain sa ‘yo? Buddy, let’s go.”

But we can’t get out of there. Hinarangan kami ng mga ito.

“Harap-harapang pambabastos na yan,” ani Carl sa mapanganib na tono. Ngunit sarkastikong ngumiti lamang si Buddy. After all, this Carl is just all bark.

“Kagalang-galang ka? Paraanin mo nga kami.”

“Bakit ba napakatapang mo? Alam mo bang pwede kita mapaalis sa pagiging first honor?”

“Yan lang ba ang pwede mong maipanakot sa akin? Kahit mawala pa ako sa honor roll.” Buddy and I tried to pass through them but they wouldn’t let us.

“Hayuff kang Carl ka! Gusto mo ba ng sakit ng katawan. Kahapon pa ako nag-iinit ang dugo ko.” Pinatunog pa ni Buddy ang mga daliri nito.

“Well, me too. Let’s get a room.”

Napasinghap ako sa ipinamalas nitong kabastusan. I will never ever like this piece of trash for my Buddy.

“Aba’t bastos kang leche ka ah!” Bumuwelo si Buddy upang sapakin si Carl na iiwas sana ngunit nagulat na lamang kami ng may isang kamay ang pumigil sa kaibigan ko upang gawin yan.

“Huwag kang makialam dito, DD.” Ang kapal talaga ng mukha ng anak ng principal na ito. Namumutla naman ang mukha sa naantalang pagsuntok sana sa kanya.

“Pasalamat ka at pinigilan ko si MM.” Then gently, he put MM’s arm down. “You’re not worth it, you ugly piece of trash.”

“Boys! You know what to do.” What a coward loser he is! Talagang ang mga alalay niya ang balak niyang bumugbog sa amin.

Narinig kong napapalatak si Blet.

“Are you really going to have a scene, loser? With the editor-in-chief of Press on the scene?”

“My mom certainly won’t let it happen,” confident pa nitong sabi.

“Hindi hawak ng principal ang Press, Carl,” nakatiim-bagang sabi ni MM.

“Are you gonna report na muntik mo na akong masuntok?”

“Why not? After all, nabastos ako.” Buddy gave an emphasis on the word “nabastos.” Natulala naman si Carl but he attempted to look calm.

“Can we pass now?” I sarcastically asked. “We’re gonna be late.”

“After MM gives me a kiss.” Promise, kinilabutan ako for Buddy when he pointed his lips. Buddy also gave that “eww” expression. Blet and DD just laughed his stupidity.

“Bugbugan na lang!” Pinagalaw-galaw pa ni MM ang mga balikat niya. “Kayang kaya kita. DD, Blet, kayo na bahala kay Buddy.”

“Why not do it all together?” DD said and put his hand on Buddy’s shoulder. Lumingon sa kanya si Buddy.

“Ang alin? Ang basagin ang mga mukha ng mga triceratops na to?”

“Crazy editor-in-chief,” natatawang sabi ni DD. “Do you know what’s the best thing to do at a time like this?”

“Ano naman?”

“Hey, are you having a world of your own? Boys!”

“That is to escape.”

DD carried MM – the bridal style. Blet did the same to me, to my shock. Then the boys jumped over Carl and his alipores na tiningala na lamang kami.
